Credit Transfer
Two courses in the HRM Certificate are taken from courses in the existing MBA.  Students who have completed the MBA prior to enrolling in the certificate may transfer BSA532, Organizational Behavior, and BSA504, Contemporary Issues of Human Resource Management, into the graduate certificate.  Students completing the graduate certificate and subsequently enrolling in the MBA may transfer these courses into the MBA with a Concentration in Human Resources Management.Transfer of credit from prior college experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis; however, no more than one graduate course from outside Averett may be transferred into the certificate program.Course Descriptions
The purpose of this marketing certificate is to provide the student with focused study in the field of HRM.  The certificate, as seen by the courses, is firmly grounded in research.  International aspects are covered to some extent in each course.  The certificate adds emphasis to the areas of compensation and benefits, labor and employment law, and recruitment and selection that are not covered in depth for the basic MBA Program.  This certificate will be very beneficial to those students that want a focus in the HRM area without earning an MBA.
