Honor Society

readers

Those who excel academically are eligible to join the Averett chapter of Alpha Zeta Alpha Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) a prestigious international education honor society for education majors at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. As a member of the society, students participate in two community service projects a year - one in the fall and another in the spring. KDP is one of the largest and most prestigious education honor societies in the world with more than 500 active chapters.

In April 2011, the Alpha Zeta Alpha Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), Averett's International Honor Society in Education, donated books to the Boys and Girls Club of Danville as part of its Literacy Alive Project, which it conducts throughout the year. They also donated books to the Women's Shelter in Caswell County, N.C. in October 2010. Find out more about Averett's honor societies or contact Pam Riedel, AZA Chapter Counselor at priedel@averett.edu.
