Internships

Gaining real world experience and making contacts with potential employers is an important part of the equestrian program at Averett. Not only do we bring national experts to campus on a regular basis, but we ensure that all students make connections by fulfilling a minimum 3-credit hour internship during the summer of their sophomore or junior year. In recent years we have placed students in internships with some of the following riders/trainers and organizations:

Darren Chachia - Olympic 3-Day Event Rider
Michael Poulin - Olympic dressage rider
Alborak Stable, owned by Canadian 3-Day Event Rider Sandra Donnelly
Cindy Sydnor - FEI Rider, USDF faculty and examiner
Bailey Cook - FEI Rider, USDF faculty Peterson and Smith Equine Hospital
