Averett's Sociology major

Sociology students gain a clearer understanding of the world through the examination of contemporary issues in areas such as crime, race, family and social problems. Students gain an appreciation of their own social world, a broader understanding of different ways of life and a more complete perspective of the world and their place in it.

Students are prepared for a variety of careers including:

Careers in Government Sales director &Social Services;
City Planning Office managers Social Work
Probation and Parole Officer Entry into Law School Police Officers
Personnel Management Secondary Teaching
