BBA Admission Requirements
- Proof of high school graduation (transcript required) or GED with battery score of 250 (paper-based) or 500 (computer-based).
- A 2.0 grade point average (GPA) on previous college or high school credit. Students with a GPA below 2.0 on a 4.0 grading scale will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by an undergraduate review committee. If accepted, the student must earn a grade no lower than a "C" in each of the first four courses (excluding IDS 301).Students entering Averett with fewer than 54 credits may complete a prescribed series of courses to fulfill the university’s general education requirements. Students may begin the major curriculum after they have completed a minimum of 54 credits. Credits may be obtained from a combination of the following:
- Through Averett University
- Regionally accredited colleges or universities
- College Level Examination Program (CLEP) or Defense Activity for Non-Traditional
- Education Support (DANTES)
- Noncollegiate military, professional, or certificate courses, and military experience as evaluated for credit by the American Council on Education (ACE) guide
- Transcripts from all regionally accredited institutions attended.
- Two years of full-time work experience.
- Two letters of recommendation from persons qualified to judge the applicant's character, professional capabilities and capacity to complete undergraduate study. (The person must not be a relative or friend. At least one letter must be from a current or previous supervisor.)
- Submission of current résumé including months and years of employment.
- Students whose native languages are not English must have a minimum score of 173 (computer-based), 500 (paper-based) or 61 (Internet-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
Note: All technical credits will be evaluated on an individual basis. Averett University reserves the right todetermine which transfer courses apply toward the various general education requirements.
Graduation Requirements
- A total of 123 semester hours of credit is required for graduation as follows:
- Payment of all tuition and fees, including the $100 graduation fee
- Maintenance of a minimum 2.0 GPA throughout the undergraduate degree program

MBA Admission Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Transcripts from all regionally accredited institutions attended.
- A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) over the last 60 semester hours of undergraduate study toward a baccalaureate degree. Students who are below a 3.0 GPA may be considered for admission by the Graduate Admissions Committee. If accepted, the student must earn a grade no lower than a "B" in each of the first four courses (excluding IDS 301).
- Three years of full-time work experience.
- Three letters of recommendation from persons qualified to judge the applicant's character, professional capabilities and capacity to complete study at the master's level. (The person must not be a relative or friend. At least one letter must be from a current or previous supervisor.)
- Submission of current résumé, including months and years of employment.
- Students whose native languages are not English must have a minimum score of 250 (computer-based), 600 (paper-based) or 100 (Internet-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
MBA Graduation Requirements
- Completion of the 41-credit core curriculum
- Completion of IDS 301
- Maintenance of a minimum 3.0 GPA throughout the graduate program
- Payment of all tuition and fees, including the $100 graduation fee
- Completion of degree requirements within six years from the start of the student’s program
