Transfer Students
If you are transferring
from a community college your associate degree is likely
transferable. Students transferring with an associate
degree from a Virginia Community College/North Carolina
Community College will be admitted to Averett as a
junior.

Send official transcripts from all previously attended schools: Averett University, Office of Admissions, 420 West Main St., Danville, VA, 24541 |

Send a high school transcript and SAT/ACT scores (if fewer than 12 transferable college credits) |

Ask the school you are transferring from to submit a Confidential Inquiry for Transfer Applicants form (PDF) |

Once accepted, apply for financial aid. Many students qualify for federal aid:

Take a placement test(s) during transfer orientation.
All new students must take a mathematics placement test unless they have received AP credit for MTH 103 or higher, or successfully completed a college mathematics course that is transferable as MTH 103 or higher.

Students should take a Spanish or French placement exam if they've: studied French or Spanish, are pursuing a bachelor of arts degree or wish to take foreign language at Averett.

Register for classes and meet with your academic advisor during orientation.
Students who transfer during the summer and are taking summer courses must see the Registrar a week before summer classes start. |
