Submit an Averett application

Send official transcripts from all previously attended schools: Averett University, Office of Admissions, 420 West Main St., Danville, VA, 24541

Official transcripts from all previously attended post-secondary institutions are required for evaluation. Minimum cumulative college Grade Point Average (GPA) for admission is 2.0

High school transcripts and SAT/ACT scores are required if the student has attempted and completed fewer than 12 transferable college credits. These students will be evaluated on their high school performance and must meet freshmen guidelines in addition to the transfer GPA guideline.

Ask the school you are transferring from to submit a Confidential Inquiry for Transfer Applicants form (PDF)

If you wish to receive a free, unofficial transcript evaluation: Email Averett's transfer counselor, Stephanie Mullins or call 1-800-AVERETT, ext. 15666

Once accepted, apply for financial aid. Many students qualify for federal aid:

Take a placement test(s) during transfer orientation.

All new students must take a mathematics placement test unless they have received AP credit for MTH 103 or higher, or successfully completed a college mathematics course that is transferable as MTH 103 or higher.  Students should take a Spanish or French placement exam if they've: studied French or Spanish, are pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree or wish to take foreign language at Averett.

Students who transfer during the summer and are taking summer courses must see the Registrar a week before summer classes start.
