 Main Campus

The Main Campus is on West Main St. (Route 293 South) between Danville Regional Medical Center and Ballou Park Shopping Center.

The Admissions House (English Hall) is located at 334 West Main (adjacent to the Blount Library).

Construction continues on our campus and in the community. Parking is available in designated lots on campus and throughout the residential areas of campus except where signs are posted as "Parking By Permit Only" as these are spaces designated for residents of Danville.

Directions from Lynchburg, VA: Follow US 29 South for about 50 miles.   When you reach Blairs stay left and follow US-29 S Danville Expressway.   After 11.3 miles, take the VA-86 N exit on your right.   Stay to right to continue on 86-N to Danville for 2.5 miles.   Take the W. Main Street Exit, Rt. 293, on your right (you will see the hospital on your right).   When you reach the stop sign take a right and follow for 1/3 of a mile and Averett will be on your right. 

Directions from Richmond, VA:   From I-95 South follow until you reach I-85 South Exit 51.   Merge onto I-85 South and follow for 57 miles towards South Hill.   Take Exit 12B US-58 West to South Hill.   At the end of the exit turn right and follow US-58 West for 29 miles until you reach Clarksville.   When the road forks; take the left exit over the lake to continue on US-58 West bypass.   You will then continue on US-58 West for 48 miles.   In Danville, turn left on N. Main Street VA-360 and follow for 2 miles.   N. Main Street will turn into W. Main Street.   After you pass the hospital on the left Averett will be half a mile down on your right.

Directions from Roanoke, VA:   Follow US-220 South for 56 miles.   Continue on to US-58 East for 6 miles (you will see signs for US-58 East to Danville).   You will exit onto US-58 East to Danville (exit on the right).   Follow for 22 miles until you reach the US-29 South/VA-86 South exit.   Follow for half a mile and take the W. Main Street Exit on your right (you will see the hospital on your left).   At the top of the hill take a right and follow for a half mile and Averett will be on your right.

Directions from Suffolk, VA: From US-58 West follow for 119 miles.   When you reach Clarksville the road will fork.   Take the left exit over the lake to continue on US-58 West bypass.   You will then continue on US-58 West for 48 miles.   In Danville, turn left on N. Main Street VA-360 and follow for 2 miles.   N. Main Street will turn into W. Main Street.   After you pass the hospital on the left Averett will be half a mile down on your right.

Directions from Charlotte, NC: Follow I-85 N for 82 miles towards Greensboro.   Take the I-85 N Business/US-29 N Business exit and follow for 6 miles (this will be a slight right off I-85N).   Take exit 39 US-70/US-220/US-29 towards Reidsville.  There will be a slight left once you get on US-70/US-220/US-29.   Continue to follow US-29N for 38 miles.   Once you cross the state line stay to the left US-29N Business.   After 2.8 miles the road will split,(you will see an Exxon on the right) stay left and continue on US-29 N Business.   After 1.6 miles take the 86S exit which will be on the right and follow for .5 miles.   Exit right on to W. Main Street Rt. 293.   At the stop sign take a right and follow for .3 miles.   Averett will be on your right. 

Directions from Wilmington, NC: Follow I-40W until you reach Exit 266 (approx 150 miles) and follow to NC-86 N.   Follow NC-86N for approx 45 miles.   After you cross the Virginia State Line continue for another 2.5 miles as NC-86N turns to VA-86N.   Follow until exit for W. Main St Rt. 293.   At the stop sign take right on to W. Main St.   After .3 miles the school will be on your right.

Outside Virginia: Take US58 E into Danville. Proceed into town and take the Business US29 S/SR86 S/Central Boulevard/Downtown Exit. Merge onto SR86 S. Proceed on SR86 S, then take the Route 293/West Main Street Exit. Turn right at the end of the ramp onto Route 293 S/West Main Street. Follow West Main Street approximately 6 blocks. Averett University is located at 420 W. Main Street.

If you need more specific directions, call the Campus Visit Coordinator at Averett who can provide written directions as well as recommend hotels and bed and breakfast inns within the area.

Once you arrive in Danville, follow the green Averett College signs to the campus on West Main Street. Parking is available campus-wide. Public parking on the street is available except for the areas designated "Parking by Permit Only.

 Grant Athletic and Convocation Center (North Campus)

From the North
From Rt. 29 follow Rt. 29 Business into Danville. Proceed through town and take the Piedmont Drive Exit. At the third light, take a right onto Mount Cross Road. The entrance to the North Campus will be less than a mile on your left.

From the East
From Rt. 58 proceed through town. After the overpass for Rt. 29, take the next right onto Mount Cross Road. Go straight through two lights past Piedmont Mall (on your right). The entrance to the North Campus will be less than a mile on your left.

From the South

From Rt. 29 follow 29 Business into town. Stay to the left on Memorial Drive. At the light at the bottom of the hill take a left across the Robertson Bridge. Continue straight. Take a left at the fifth light onto Mount Cross Road. The entrance to the North Campus will be less than a mile on your left

From the West
From Rt. 58 pass John Hoover Honda and take the next left onto Piedmont Drive. Take a left at the fifth light onto Mount Cross Road. The entrance to the North Campus will be less than a mile on your left..

From Averett's Main Campus, 420 West Main St.
Follow Mountain View Ave. down the hill. (The road will curve to the right about one block past the perimeter of campus and become Primrose Place-follow this to the stoplight). Take a left at the stoplight onto Memorial Drive. Take a right at the second stoplight crossing Robertson Bridge. Continue straight. Take a left at the fifth light onto Mount Cross Road. The entrance to the North Campus will be less than a mile on your left.

 The Averett Equestrian Center:

IMPORTANT: Do not use Map Quest or Adult Professional to find this location. It will abandon you on a dirt road.

From Danville: Take 86 south towards Yanceyville Cross the NC stateline, go about 1/4 of a mile Turn Right onto Shady Grove Road Follow Shady Grove for 3.5 miles Turn Left onto Gammon Follow for 1.25 miles Averett Riding Center will be on the left

From Greensboro: Take 29 North Take the Rt 700 exit just before getting into Danville Turn Right at the end of the exit ramp ( this is Shady Grove Rd) Follow for approximately 2 miles. Turn Right onto Gammon Road Follow for 1.25 miles Averett Riding Center will be on the left

  Averett University Flight Center

The Aviation Facility is located at the Danville Regional Airport:

From the Main Campus: Follow West Main St. (north) to Central Boulevard. Turn left onto Central Boulevard (north) and over the Dan River. Take Route 58 East exit and follow to Airport Rd. Turn right onto Airport Rd. The Averett flight center is on the left after parking lot.

From Route 58 West: Turn left onto Airport Road. The Averett flight center is on the left just after the parking lot.
