Averett's Community Programs

In our Community Programs, we offer several affordable non-credit classes that encourage community members in Danville and the surrounding area to explore "interest" topics that enrich their lives.  We have a variety of classes that allow participants to interact with Averett faculty and staff in a relaxed, noncompetitive atmosphere.  No pressure to study - only freedom to enjoy and learn.

coffeehouseThe 1859 - Coffeehouse Lecture Series is designed to bring community members to Averett's Main Campus to interact in a small, relaxed setting for the life-long learners. The series allows Averett to showcase its faculty - current and retired - to Danville and the surrounding communities. Each presentation is approximately 30 minutes, with a 15 minute break. The series is free, but availability is limited to available seating and space in Jut's Café.
