The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is designed to develop and enhance the management and analytical skills necessary for effectiveness in public and private industry. The program concentrates on the functional areas of business. These include, but are not limited to, management, accounting, finance, economics and strategic planning. The curriculum is structured sequentially, with participants taking one course at a time.
The Master of Education (MEd) program is designed to encourage the development of the professional educator. The program concentrates on an educational framework that supports the advancement, application, and integration of relevant theory and practice within the classroom. In order to assume leadership positions, teachers must become competent in curriculum content and design, and use of intructional strategies appropriate for the developmental level of students and appropriate for each curriculum area. The MEd program provides a strong theorectical base that examines philosophical, psychological and research-oriented issues. Students in this program must pass a written comprehensive examination in order to be awarded the MEd degree.
Our IDEAL Program allows adult students who cannot enroll in a structured curriculum to develop, with assistance from an academic advisor, a program tailored to their own schedules and background. Students earn credit through class attendance, correspondence courses from accredited institutions, or through completion of Averett independent study courses.
Business Administration: Management Science
