Buy Yours Today! With Christmas right around the corner, people are starting to purchase gifts and plan meals for dinner parties. As you're thinking of gifts to buy, consider purchasing the University's cookbook, "A Taste of Averett," which is now available in The Schoolfield House Booksellers for $10. All proceeds from the sale of the cookbook will go to the University's Student Emergency Fund.

The University's Faculty and Staff Campaign wrapped up Nov. 30 with a 42 percent increase over last year, and three departments had full participation.

Piano Concert to be Held in Pritchett
Duo-pianists have a long tradition in the world of music - with duos or concertos for two pianos written by Mozart, Bach and Chopin (to name a few). This Saturday, Averett will host Spanish duo-pianists Elena Martín and José Melitón.

The House That Jack Built
The women's soccer team participated in a community service project with Habitat for Humanity Saturday, Nov. 13 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. The team helped insulate a house, installed side paneling and worked with windows and expanding foam.
Tune Presents to Jobseekers
Kathie Tune, vice president for human resources, presented to Jobseekers on "Reinventing Yourself...Taking a Personal Inventory of Your Skills" on Nov. 9 at the Virginia Workforce Center. Averett is a partner with Jobseekers, which focuses on communication skills, application completion, réumé composition and interviewing skills.

Student-Athletes Give to Charity
The University's Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) held their annual canned food drive this fall, collecting more than 1,400 cans for God's Storehouse. Thanks to everyone who helped the student-athletes give cans to this important local charity.
