Quantico Holds Graduation Celebration

Graduation is a momentous occasion for any graduate. It's a culmination of years of hard work and studying, and for our men and women serving in the military this event has been achieved while defending our country. On Friday, July 15, the Lifelong Learning Center recognized Averett graduates at the second annual Graduation Celebration at Quantico Marine Corps Base. Family, friends, co-workers, fellow marines and sailors gathered to honor the graduates.

The celebration provided students the opportunity to be recognized for their accomplishments prior to or after receiving their degree from their main campus. Students attended colleges or universities either at Quantico, online or in the surrounding metropolitan area. In addition to Averett, students attended a number of different colleges or universities including Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Northern Virginia Community College, Old Dominion University, University of Phoenix and Troops to Roughnecks.

Colonel Daniel J. Choike, commander, Marine Corps Base Quantico, and Susan McIntosh, director, personal and professional development, presented a letter to congratulate all students for their academic achievement.
