 | Party On With Our Alumni! Homecoming weekend is fast approaching. If it's not already on your calendars, (Sept. 30-Oct. 2) mark it now. As faculty and staff members, you are an important part of the Averett experience for our alumni. Please make plans to attend as many Homecoming events as possible. Special reunions include English and education majors, Averett in the 1990's, CSU/BSU and alumni that traveled with Dr. Ed Fisher on his summer trips.
A full schedule is available on the web, but the big items are:
1) Friday night, 6:30 p.m., Homecoming Hometown Party at the Community Market. Tickets are $25 per person, child care is available at the Danville Science Center for $20 (if you sell 10 tickets, you get a free ticket). We will need volunteers to help with the event by helping watch the door or serve beverages.
2) Saturday morning tailgate party, club carnival and football game vs N.C. Wesleyan at 1 p.m. Come and support current students, see alumni and watch what promises to be a great game.
If you would like to help with Homecoming to make it great for Averett, Danville and the world, please contact Dan Hayes, the alumni guy.

 | Chance For a Free Chick-fil-A Sandwich Chick-fil-A has teamed with the department of athletics this fall to get a free Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich into the hands of everyone who attends a football game. To make sure you have an opportunity to receive a free sandwich, pick up a ticket at the gate and then cheer like mad (chanting eat more chicken would work) for the team to score at least 35 points. If the team scores 35 points or more, the bearer of the football ticket can receive a free chicken sandwich at either Danville Chick-fil-A location (Piedmont Mall or Riverside Drive).
