Randy King, director of marketing and communications, will be leaving Averett at the end of April to pursue an opportunity with McKesson Medical-Surgical. Randy, who has led the marketing and communications team since June 2010, will be the communications manager for the Richmond-based business.
We are pleased for Randy and his family as they take this new opportunity, but as always when a member of the Averett family moves on, we're sorry to see him go.
Under Randy's leadership the marketing and communications team revamped the Averett Today magazine; launched a redesign of www.averett.edu based on best practices; increased Averett's social media presence on Facebook and Twitter; and incorporated the Averett brand into our GPS and traditional advertising and marketing; as well as raised the production quality of University publications like the campaign case for support, the strategic plan and the new student orientation guidebook, among others.
We will begin the search for a new director of marketing and communications immediately.
