|Safety in the Summer Sun|
It’s hot, and unless you don’t leave the comforts of the air conditioning you’ll have to deal with the heat of the summer sun. If you do brave the outdoors there are some precautions you should take:
• Stay out of the sun entirely, if that’s impossible, avoid the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. when UV rays are strongest.
• If you are out at midday, use a good quality sunscreen with a SPF of at least 15 that blocks both UVA and UVB rays.
• Stay in shade when you can and reapply sunscreen as directed.
• Wear sunglasses, and even glasses, with UV protection.
• Drink water often if you are outside. If you run, drink eight ounces of water before you go, carry enough water to drink four ounces at least every 20 minutes and hydrate with at least eight ounces when you return.
