 | Averett Central Reminder Just a reminder to all faculty and staff: Averett Central is the one stop shop for any and all visitors to campus. If there is a parent, student, faulty, or staff member who doesn't know where a location on campus is, where a class is being held, or just has general questions, please direct them to Averett Central.
Also, please be reminded that we are only as efficient as the information we receive. If there are any updates to your policies and procedures please inform Robbie Hendrix or Rose Holley.

 | Instructional Technology Help Available Instructional Technologist Kim McMurtry will hold an open lab for faculty from 1:30-3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 20 in Frith 207. Faculty are encouraged to visit the lab during this time for assistance with any course-related software (Moodle, PowerPoint, DropBox, etc.).

 | Puzzle Pieces Always wanted to be crafty and creative? Start with something easy, like making puzzle pins and earrings. There will be a class held from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Sept. 22 in the multipurpose room in the Student Center. Participants need to bring a bottle of tacky glue (not super glue), a pair of tweezers and a small towel. The class is $15, and the kit is $4. To register for the class, call Gloria Robertson at ext. 15638.

 | Atkins to Speak at Kittrell Graduation Dr. Nancy P. Atkins, regional director for academic services in the Central Region for the GPS Program was invited to be the guest speaker for the 2012 Kittrell Job Corps (KJC) Center graduation on Aug. 24. She will address more than 100 KJC graduates, their families and friends.
According to its web page, Kittrell Job Corps center in Kittrell, N.C. is "a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 through 24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training."
