|Strategic Planning Opportunity|
Next Tuesday (Feb. 25) from 11:15 a.m.-1 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the Student Center the strategic planning team is hosting a campus-wide opportunity for faculty, staff and students to provide feedback on the draft of the new Strategy Map. Please take time to drop by and share your thoughts on our four themes: academic innovation, student success, building visibility and reputation and strategic growth.
If you have a special interest in one of the four major themes, it's not too late to join a team and share your ideas. Contact one of the chairs to join. Team leaders are Dr. Janet Laughlin, student success; Stacy Gato, strategic growth; Buddy Rawley, building visibility and reputation; Dr. Michael Parsons, academic innovation.
Have you heard about adaptive learning? Adaptive learning uses technology to deepen student engagement with course concepts by providing conditional activities to scaffold learning. For example, a student could watch a video in Moodle and then take a quiz on the concepts presented. Earn a passing score, and the student may proceed to the next video on more complex concepts. Earn a failing score, and the student must engage in another learning activity and another quiz on those concepts before being able to precede further.
Moodle offers multiple adaptive learning features, including the Personalized Learning Designer "PLD." Register for the Moodle Personalized Learning Designer hands-on workshop at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 26, to learn how to set rules according to specific events, conditions, and actions using PLD. See the complete schedule on the intranet for additional workshops or email Kim McMurtry with questions.
