As temperatures rise, so does the activity level on our campus! From hard hats and construction projects including the new entrance to Main Hall to the Student Success Center and the new bookstore, to a 20 percent increase in the size of the entering class compared to this time last year, to an increase in summer school enrollment.As greater numbers of students are choosing to be at Averett, our energy and activity level continues to increase.
Feel free to stop in and see what we're up to this summer as you're driving down West Main Street. While you're here, visit Jut's Café, which is open from 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and located in the Student Center.

Averett Introduces New Board of Trustee Members
Averett University's Board of Trustees elected three new members to its governing body. Joining the Board of Trustees for a four-year term are the Honorable Rossie Alston Jr., Irving M. Blank and Dr. Jack Spainhour Jr. Full Story
New Scholarship Available for Junior Leadership Southside Graduates
Beginning this fall, Averett will award a $5,000 renewable scholarship to graduates of the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce Junior Leadership Southside Program. Full Story
New Basketball Coach Announced
On May 27, the athletics department announced its new head men's basketball coach, Matt Parke. Parke comes to the university from Guilford College where he was assistant head coach. Full Story
Summer Orientation for New Students
Averett will hold the first of two summer orientations June 24-26. Transfer students and their families will visit the university June 24 and incoming freshmen and their families will be on campus June 25-26. The university expects nearly 100 new students to visit this month and learn about the benefits of an Averett education.
Students Place in Equestrian Tournament
Two students on Averett's Dressage Team placed during the Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) national competition at the end of April.Full Story
