![]() ![]() Homecoming at your Hometown University saw hundreds of members of the extended Averett family enjoying the wide range of events that mark this special time of year.We reached out to Alumni, families and community members in more ways this year than ever before. Our Hometown Homecoming party drew more than 240 revelers to the festivities at Danville's historic Community Market. We celebrated 10 years of football at Averett with a 50-0 win over Greensboro College.I think my ears are still ringing with ‘80's riffs from the truly fun get together at our house on Saturday for more than 60 early ‘80's alumni. However, the music I'll remember from this weekend is the beautiful sound of the more than 50 Averett Singers from over the years who reunited for a special presentation on Sunday morning at our memorial service in Blount Chapel.Homecoming truly is about memories - those from good times past and the new ones we make through events like Homecoming 2010.Thanks to all who made this year so special!
