Junior Katie Reynolds works on a wire sculpture for one of her art projects. The Averett Student Art Show opens March 18 and runs through April 17 in the multi-purpose room of the Student Center. Stop by at your convenience and check out some of the University's up and coming artists.

The old adage says the month of March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.   And this month is full of activity at Averett.   The finishing touches are being added to the portico of the Galesi Family Student Success Center, which we opened in the fall.   We welcomed 97 talented high school students on campus last month for Averett's Scholarship Day, where they earned additional scholarship monies based on their academic merit.   Construction and renovation has begun in the former Dimon headquarters building in Danville's Tobacco Warehouse district as we prepare to repurpose part of that historic space to grow our Graduate and Professional Studies classroom and administrative space.   Yes, whatever the weather, March is a month of change!
