The University held its first new student summer orientation June 24-25.More than 90 students attended the orientation where they had an opportunity to take care of University business, meet other new students and learn about life on campus. There will be two new student orientations held back-to-back in July.

Because we're a University, it's easy to think that the summer months might be slow at Averett.I hope these newsletters help you to see otherwise!   This summer is no exception. In June we hosted our first new student orientation, welcoming more than 90 students and their families to our Danville campus. In July we'll host two more orientation sessions (July 15-16 & 17-18) as we get to know the members of what we believe will be another record setting incoming class.

Along with the new Averett locations we opened in June in Chesapeake and Richmond, we remain busy with renovations at our Danville locations. The work at the Riverview Campus, in our historic Main Hall and around our Danville campuses impact the region as well.Over the summer we are investing more than $1 million into upgrades that will directly benefit our students and employing more than 130 on construction projects that began in April and are expected to continue through early fall.

Please stop by and see what we're up to this summer,
