Here at Averett, the month of December brings about a time of reflection as well as new beginnings. We are able to look back and see all that we accomplished during 2011 - continued growth in our traditional undergraduate program, new concentrations in several degree programs, the creation of Averett Central, opening new locations for our Graduate and Professional Studies Program, a renewed relationship with the Virginia Baptists and the opening of our new Carrington Autism Resource Center, which you can read more about below. These are just a few of the wonderful things that have occurred at your Hometown University this year and we are already anticipating more positive developments in 2012.
This is also a month of new beginnings as on December 10, nearly 450 students will walk across the stage at the E. Stuart James Grant Center and receive their diplomas. What an exciting time!We wish all of our graduates well as they pursue their dreams of bold new futures.
As you reflect on the past year and look forward to the one on the horizon, my husband Joe and I, along with the rest of the Averett family, wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season and a happy New Year.
