CONFIGURING COMPUTERS FOR HIGH SPEED INTERNET

** Everyone MUST name their computers by their hall name and room number, i.e. Fugate203 or Commons305B (directions on how to do this will follow).

** In order to change these settings you must follow the correct steps for your version of Windows. Before attempting this setup, you must have an Ethernet card installed.

** Make sure your Ethernet cable is plugged in the data jack and Ethernet card securely.  The cable should be a CAT5e Ethernet Cable (we do not suggest CAT6) and not a phone cord. In most dorms Ethernet jacks are either orange or yellow and look like phone jacks except larger.

** Your Computer may already have these settings automatically set by default.

Before following the setup guide, please check and see if you can connect to the Internet before continuing.
