| Reserving University Facilities
For events pertaining to or sponsored by Averett University, facilities must be reserved through the persons listed below. For non-Averett events, facilities must be rented by contacting the Business Office, ext. 15650 Main Campus Classrooms, Bishop Conference Center Blount Chapel (w/ approval, See Usage Policy Davenport Auditorium Residence Life Office Conference Room Pritchett Auditorium Grant Center & Athletic Fields Guidelines for the use of David S. Blount Chapel (Frith Hall) The basic function of the David S. Blount Chapel will be to serve as the spiritual and worship center for the main campus of Averett University. The primary function of the chapel will be a spiritual one: a place of worship, chapel services, and religious lectures. Special lectures and speeches that are appropriate to the dignity and purpose of the chapel may be allowed. Special meetings, recitals, and formal ceremonies that have an emphasis appropriate to the dignity and purpose of the chapel may be held. Meetings that require space and technology only available in the chapel that do not meet the above criteria may be given special consideration. Applications to use the chapel should be scheduled as far in advance as possible and must be made within 72 hours for consideration. Some events may be placed on the permanent calendar (such as chapel services). Applications should come to the President’s Office, where they will be forwarded to a committee for a recommendation. The policy of no food or drink in the chapel will be strictly enforced, and there will be no fixtures to the walls. Candles will be permitted only in the altar or stage area. |
