history

The mission of the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness (OIRE) is to conduct research and analysis in order to provide information to support institutional planning, institutional assessment, policy analysis and decision making, and to facilitate institutional effectiveness to advance the mission of the university.

The OIRE is responsible for the collection, organization, maintanance, and analysis of institutional and other data to support institutional management, operations, decision-making and planning functions. The OIRE is under the overall administrative direction of the Averett University President.

The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness is available to help faculty and staff identify, locate or gather information for assessment and other research. The Office primarily focuses on studies pertaining to University effectiveness. As time allows, the Office may be available to assist with data gathering for faculty research. Generally, faculty are responsible for the design, IRB approval process, and data analysis phases of their research projects. For this type of project, the OIRE may act as a facilitator for data collection.
