Traditional Student Online Registration Instructions

 


If you are an undergraduate, you must register for a minimum of 12 semester hours for financial aid eligibility, and for campus housing.

 

If you are a graduate student, you must register for a minimum of 9 semester hours for financial aid eligibility.

 

Your assigned @averett.edu email account is used for all AverettUniversity correspondence.   Please check often.

 

Your online registration access is determined by the following:

q Advisor authorization-your advisor must authorize you to register online.

q Available dates and times-determined by the Dean and the Registrar.

q Financial standing-you must be in good financial standing.

q Academic standing-you must be in good academic standing.

q Academic degree and program-you must be a degree-seeking student.

 

By selecting the Online Registration option from the Registration menu, you may view your online registration status.  

 

 

If a red stop sign icon appears, you will need to resolve the issue(s) before online registration is available to you.   With the exception of the date hold, (Current Date is not within the Registration Period.)you will need to contact the office responsible for the hold.

  

Possible STOP status reasons are:   suspended, advisor authorization needed, business office hold, or date is not in the registration period.  

 


If the green go icon with the status of OK to Register appears, click on the year/term to begin the registration process.   Next, select the Course Search icon.

 

Rounded Rectangular Callout: Click on the Course Search icon.

 

Enter all or part of the course.   The instructions on using wildcards are found in the Search Tips.

 

 

Clicking on the Search button returns the course entered.   Next, click on the Add to carticon.  (You will do this for each course.) 

 

This popup appears with each selected course.   Click on the red X to close the popup and continue adding courses to your cart.

 

 

When you are through selecting courses, click on the Back to Registration icon, to view the courses in your cart.

 

 

 

 

 

Remember, you must be a full-time student for financial aid eligibility.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rounded Rectangular Callout: You MUST CHECK the box next to EACH COURSE that you would like to submit to your advisor for approval. You must click on the SUBMIT FOR APPROVAL button    to complete the process. 

 

 


Rounded Rectangular Callout: To finalize your registration, your advisor will submit his or her approval.  If a choice is declined, you will need to contact your advisor.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

 

A place in each of the classes you have registered for is held for you until your advisor submits his or her approval.  

 

The system will not allow you to submit a schedule for approval if there are errors.   All errors must be resolved before you can submit your schedule for approval.   An example of an error:   Course time conflicts.  

 

As soon as your advisor approves your registration choices, your will receive an email in your averett.edu email account.   You may view a finalized schedule by opening the Online Registration option or selecting the Course Schedule option from the Courses menu.

 

If you do not see all of the classes that you submitted for approval, your advisor has either declined approval, or has not yet approved your submission.   You may view the status of each course by clicking on the View Advisor Approval Detailson the Online Registration page.
