Baptist Collection

Averett University has an historic affiliation with the Baptist church, dating from 1859. The library collects materials on the history of the Baptist movement and on individual local churches. The collection includes rare books, biographies of early Baptist clergymen, and minutes or annuals of the Baptist General Association of Virginia (from 1935), the Southern Baptist Convention (from 1866), the Pittsylvania Baptist Association (from 1940), and various other Baptist associations. All works in this collection are listed online in the Library Catalog.
