FOR THE DANVILLE CAMPUS (TRADITIONAL PROGRAMS): If we choose to cancel classes, we also communicate through the following broadcast media that announce
the closing.

WROV 96.3 (Roanoke)
WYYD (Lynchburg)
WSLC-Q99 (Roanoke)
WBTM (Danville)
WAKG (Danville)
WSET-13 (Lynchburg)
WSLS-10 (Roanoke)
WDBJ-7 (Roanoke)
WVTF-89 (Roanoke)

In addition, we will use the voice mail system of Averett’s phone system, so faculty, staff, and residential students may access their voice mail to hear a message.

FOR THE GPS PROGRAM: Please check the notices for your region on this site. You may also contact your class representative. Because we offer classes over such a wide geographic area, the decision to cancel classes is often made on a cluster-by-cluster basis.

IN THE EVENT OF A DELAYED SCHEDULE, please click here to download a schedule of classes.

IN THE END WE ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR OWN SAFETY. There may be times when dangerous conditions are very localized, and the roads on which you must travel are treacherous, while other highways are clear. Any time you do not feel safe driving to Averett's campus or the location of your class, please stay home. Your instructors will work with you to make up missed assignments.

Our mission is to deliver a high quality education, and we try to avoid interrupting our work. On many occasions Averett will be open when other institutions are closed. A majority of Averett’s traditional students live on campus, and although a large number of commuter students are enrolled, many live within close driving distance. We ask that you use your judgment in making personal decisions regarding travel.
