Join us for Homecoming 2011

September 5, 2011

Homecoming, according to the Oxford English Dictionary is: 1) an instance of returning home; 2) a reunion of former students of a college or high school. Homecoming is an exciting time of year at Averett because we welcome home members of the Averett family during a weekend full of fun activities. This year Averett is celebrating Homecoming Sept. 30-Oct. 2.

While Homecoming activities are generally thought to be just for alumni, Averett wants Danville and the surrounding community to know they are more than welcome to attend any events they are interested in.

Some of the events this year include:
* Averett's Homecoming Hometown Party, Friday, Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Market; food will be provided by Outback Steakhouse; tickets are $25 per person and childcare is being provided by the Danville Science Center ($20 per child); for tickets or more information call 434-791-5676
* Oct. 1, Tailgating at the North Campus before the game, register for your free space
* Oct. 1, Football game v. N.C. Wesleyan College at the North Campus at 1 p.m.; bring cans of food to support Cans Across the Conference; tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for students/senior citizens and free to alumni who register
* Oct. 1, 4 p.m., Women's Soccer v. N.C. Wesleyan

Please plan to join us for one or all of these events. For the full schedule of events visit Homecoming Schedule.
