Averett Students Present The Euro

February 22, 2012

Averett University is pleased to invite the public to attend Ilona Kilpi's, Ville Koivunen's and Charles Terrell's PowerPoint presentation entitled "€ - Euro: History, Present and the Future" on March 1 at 11:20 a.m. in the multipurpose room of the Student Center. This presentation provides a good opportunity for the community to learn more about the success, failure and future of the euro. The presentation is free and open to the public.

The eurozone debt crisis was, is and will be the headline news almost every day in the near future. Since the debt crisis can affect every country and everyone in the world, the students wanted to learn more to be able to help educate the community about the euro.

Kilpi, Koivunen and Terrell are business administration majors who will graduate this spring. This semester they are taking a class on money and banking, but their preparation for the presentation began during the winter break.

"Ilona, Ville, and Charles are the kind of students who have self-motivation and a strong and positive learning attitude to work hard to excel," said Dr. Chin-Chyuan Tai, professor of economics. "Through their presentation they learned a lot about the current economic issues, public speech, computer skills and team work."
