Averett Participating in Historic Garden Week

April 10, 2012

Averett University is participating in Virginia's Historic Garden Week. On April 26, the home of Averett President Dr. Tiffany Franks (500 Hawthorne Drive) will be a part of the tour along with the Conway House, which is located on Mountain View Avenue across from Frith Hall, and Averett's bookstore – The Schoolfield Booksellers.

Each house will feature flower arrangements put together by members of the Gabriella Garden Club and The Garden Club of Danville along with historic tours detailing various features at each location.

Tickets are available in advance at several area locations including Averett’s bookstore, Foxglove, Karen's Hallmark, The Gingerbread House & Garden Center and Rippe's. They may also be purchased online. Tickets cost $20 for the full tour and $10 for a single site visit. Children ages 6-12 are half-price and ages 5 and under are free of charge.

For more information about the Danville tour, which is sponsored by the Gabriella Garden Club and The Garden Club of Danville, please visit the Garden Club of Virginia's Historic Garden Week's website.
