GPS Students Help SPCA

May 2, 2012

Tiffany Smart, a student in Averett's Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) Program, was asked to organize a volunteer team to orchestrate registration at one of the largest fundraisers for the Martinsville-Henry County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). Checkers' Mutt Strut and Bike Ride was held at the Martinsville Speedway on April 14 and featured vendors, raffle drawings, K-9 officer exhibitions, a dog costume contest and a stroll around the racetrack.

Smart brought in her fellow bachelor of business administration team members to help - Erica Hudson, Lori McAlexander, Misty Forbes and Kimberly Boyd.
