Averett to Hold SAT Prep Workshop

September 10, 2012

Averett University's office of student success will hold a SAT Prep Workshop for all high school students preparing for the test on Saturday, Sept. 22. The cost of the workshop is $10, which may be paid that day. Check-in begins at 8:15 a.m. in Blount Chapel, which is located in Frith Hall. The workshop, which will be held in the chapel, will run until noon. Students must reserve their seat to attend.

During the workshop, Averett faculty members will review the three sections – English composition, mathematics, critical reading – of the SAT with the participants. Students will also receive tips on how to master the SAT as well as the best methods of studying for the test.

The SAT is a standardized test that assesses the critical reading, mathematics and writing skills that students need to be successful in college.

To register for the workshop, or for more information, contact Holly Kilby, director of academic support, at hkilby@averett.edu or 434-791-5788.
