Pianist Elyane Laussade to Perform as Part of Light Memorial Concert Series

Averett University's Light Memorial Concert Series is pleased to announce that international pianist Elyane Laussade will perform at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 23 in Pritchett Auditorium. The performance is free and open to the public.

Originally from the United States, Laussade has settled in Australia, establishing herself as one of the finest pianists in the country. She has performed as a soloist as well as with symphony orchestras on five continents including across the United States, in South Africa, Australia and Europe. Some of her more noted performances include the Richmond Symphony in the Beethoven Birthday Celebration, New York City's Jupiter Symphony and five performances with the Houston Symphony Orchestra.

Laussade, a graduate of the Juilliard School in New York, had her orchestral debut at the age of 13. Beyond the stage, she has been featured on radio and television programs. She teaches at the Melba Conservatorium, Monash University and the Victorian College of the Arts.
