Education Honor Society Inducts New Members

Averett University's Alpha Zeta Alpha Chapter of the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education held its initiation ceremony Dec. 1 in Blount Chapel. Seven new members were initiated: Carllnisha Johnson, Sarah Sparks, Allison Sparks, Caitlin Haws, Paige Towler, Samantha Williams and Tiffany Hicks. Senior Tiffany Branch received a KDP honor cord to wear during Commencement Saturday, Dec. 8.

During the ceremony, students shared personally selected poems and short narratives about teaching and becoming teachers.

Undergraduate students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a declared major leading toward teaching licensure to become members of the honor society.
