University to Host Events Celebrating Life of Martin Luther King Jr.

January 2, 2013

Averett will celebrate one of this country's most influential dreamers on Monday, Jan.21 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day - with two events.

At 7:30 a.m., the University will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Prayer Breakfast in the dining hall. The cost of the breakfast is $10 per person. Please RSVP by January 14 by emailing mlk@averett.edu.

Then, during an open house for the admissions office, there will be a special program beginning at 9 a.m. in Pritchett Auditorium. The program will feature the Averett Singers combined with the Averett Gospel Choir, poems read by Averett students and special words from Averett President Dr. Tiffany Franks.
