IDA Team Places Fourth

February 14, 2013

Averett University’s Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) team started out the spring season at host school North Carolina State University on Feb. 9. Averett’s five riders competed in four divisions - Introductory, Lower Training, Upper Training and First level.

Sophomore Scnobia Stewart started Averett's team off with a very strong ride, followed by junior Lindsey Baker, who also had a strong ride in the same division. The two riders placed very well, with Stewart claiming first and Baker placing third.

The Introductory level had a tough ride for senior Nicki Conradt-Eberlin, but she rode through it and finished in sixth place. The Upper Training level was just as tough for junior Jessie Hayes, however she still rode a steady test, and placed sixth as well. The day finished out with a strong ride at First level from junior Shannon Stone, who claimed another first place for the team.

Overall, the IDA team rode very well, and the entire team's combined score helped Averett secure a fourth place finish out of six teams.
