IHSA Team Wins 26 Ribbons

February 25, 2013

Averett's Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) team competed in two competitions at Virginia Intermont College in Bristol on Feb. 16 and 17 — winning a total of 26 ribbons.

On Saturday, Feb. 16, amidst tough competition, Averett finished fifth overall. The team was determined to prove the strength of their smaller team on Sunday and succeeded in finishing fourth overall. Special congratulations go to Hailey Brown, the high point rider for Sunday's show.

During the competition, riders competed in different divisions through various levels of difficulty. Adeline Bova, Chrissy Rudd, Dana Ellwanger and Hailey Brown all took home first place ribbons in their respective divisions. Coming in second place was Nicki Conradt-Eberlin. Cherokee Colburn and Jessie Hayes received third place. Fourth place finishers were Heather Tharpe and Noelle Hill.

The IHSA team is looking forward to their next competition March 30, followed by the regional competition the following day. Regional qualifiers currently include Tharpe, Brown, Hill, Conradt-Eberlin and Hayes.
