Donations Support Pritchett Renovations

March 5, 2013

Since it announced its first comprehensive capital campaign in late October, Averett has been making strides toward reaching its goals for several initiatives. The University is pleased to announce that thanks to two recent donations toward its phase one renovations of Pritchett Auditorium, it will be able to break ground as early as April.

Bon Appétit Management Company, which provides food service in the dining hall, gave $125,000 toward the Pritchett renovations. "We are very excited to be able to participate in this expansion project, and greatly value our partnership with Averett!" said Michael Aquaro, resident district manager at Duke University for Bon Appétit.

"We are very excited about the Pritchett Auditorium expansion and so thankful for Bon Appétit's participation in Averett's first comprehensive capital campaign," said Buddy Rawley, vice president for institutional advancement. "We appreciate Bon Appétit so much because they make Averett a better place for our students, faculty, staff and community."

The University has also received an anonymous gift totaling $40,000, which will allow the University to install an orchestra pit at the front of the theatre.

These gifts combined with others previously received including JTI Leaf Services, the estate of Barbara Floyd and an anonymous gift from an alumnus.

If you would like to contribute to the expansion of Pritchett Auditorium, or other campaign initiatives, please contact Buddy Rawley at 434-791-5654.
