Theatre Holding Auditions for "Little Shop of Horrors"

February 6, 2014

Averett University's theatre department will hold open auditions for people 18 and up for "Little Shop of Horrors" on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. in Grousbeck Music Center. Interested persons should come prepared with a 30-second monologue and 16 bars of music.

A comedy horror rock musical, "Little Shop of Horrors" tells the story of Seymour Krelborn, a poor young man on Skid Row who discovers a mysterious plant that looks like a very large Venus flytrap. In love with Audrey, a young woman he works with at Mushnik's Skid Row Florists, he names the plant Audrey II. Unfortunately for Seymour, this is no ordinary plant and mayhem ensues. "Little Shop of Horrors" will be performed April 10-13 in the newly renovated Pritchett Fine Arts Center.

For more information about auditions, please call 434-791-5710.
