Alumnus Joins Office of Institutional Advancement

One of Averett's own returns to the University this month in an official capacity as the new vice president of institutional advancement. Albert "Buddy" Rawley Jr., '75, is no stranger to the Danville area and its citizens. He comes to Averett from Danville Community College (DCC), where he served as the director of development.

"I am very excited about returning to my alma mater as vice president for institutional advancement," Rawley said. "Averett is a great institution with a long history. I look forward to helping the University prepare the next generation of Averett students and alumni."

In his new role, Buddy will help grow and strengthen the level of financial support given to Averett by forging stronger bonds with donors and friends of the University. Additionally, he serves as a member of the University's leadership team and will lead institutional advancement, which is responsible for alumni relations, fundraising, marketing and communications and special projects.
