Motivational Speaker & Author to Speak at Averett

February 21, 2011

Everyone wants to be successful in life. Of course, we all define success in different ways. At 7:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 28 in Blount Chapel motivational speaker turned author Brian D. Biro will discuss his book, "Beyond Success: The 15 Secrets of a Winning Life!" The event is free and open to the public. Biro's appearance is part of the University's Authors on Campus Series.

Biro has been a professional speaker, seminar leader and transformational leadership coach for the past two decades. In "Beyond Success," Biro explains how crucial it is to develop flexible, ethical, highly skilled and deeply principled leaders who are dedicated to building an outstanding team.

Before he began writing and speaking, Biro served as the United States Swimming Coach for eight years, building his team of 15 young swimmers into one of the largest private swim teams in the country. He later expanded his passion for coaching and teambuilding into the corporate world. He has presented seminars throughout the U.S. to such organizations as Ford Motor Company, Pizza Hut, AT&T, RE/MAX, and Lockhead Martin.

He has also written "The Joyful Spirit: How to Become the Happiest Person You Know!" and his newest book, "Through the Eyes of a Coach: The New Vision for Parenting, Leading, Loving and Living!" He is a four-time winner of INC. magazine's People's Choice Top Speaker and has appeared on Good Morning America, CNN's Business Unusual and the Fox News Network.

For more information about Biro's visit contact Dr. Stephen Hecox at 434-791-5836.

Averett's Authors on Campus Series is a component of the University's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), Reading Critically for Success.
