New Board of Trustee Members Announced

Averett University's Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the addition of three new board members to its ranks. Joining the university's governing body for the next four years are Wanda Bostick Jeffress, '81, '92; Steven B. Daniels; and Eric Deaton.




Jeffress, a South Boston resident, is owner and vice president of Jeffress Funeral Home. Jeffress previously worked as director of human resources for Halifax Regional Health System and as assistant vice president for Central Fidelity Bank. She has served on numerous community boards and committees. She currently serves on the Mid-Atlantic Broadband Cooperative Board of Directors, LEAD Virginia - Class of 2008 and Alumni Association, Southern Virginia Higher Education Center Board of Trustees, Halifax Education Foundation Board of Directors, Danville Community College Minority Concerns Board, advisory board of American National Bank and vice president of the trustee board for Ebenezer Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.











Daniels is president of Japan Tobacco International Leaf Services and director of North and Central America Leaf Services. A resident of Danville, he previously served as president of Dibrell Brothers Tobacco Company and president and COO of Dimon, Inc. Daniels is a member of the Danville Utility Commission, the Danville Tobacco Textile Museum and the Danville Golf Club board.

















Deaton, a Danville resident, is CEO of Danville Regional Medical Center. He serves on the VA Board of Health, the YMCA Board, the United Way Board, Boys & Girls Club, LifePoint CEO Council, Danville/Pittsylvania County of Commerce Board and Rotary.
