Amanda Woodward Barber, '03 Amanda Woodward Barber, '03, chose Averett because she wanted to be more than a number. "If all you want to do is go to class then maybe a bigger school is better. But if you really want to make college everything that it can be by cultivating life-long relationships with peers, professors and administrators then Averett is the place to be." Her favorite Averett memories include meeting her husband, Travis, competing in national cheerleading competitions, serving as Student Government president and living on "the famous 3D" (third Davenport) where she made some "amazing friends." But beyond the lasting friendships, Averett also prepared Amanda for a successful career. After graduation she earned a master's degree in forensic psychology and today enjoys her job as an intelligence analyst. "Averett definitely gave me the base I needed for my job. The analytical and writing skills that I learned through Averett's psychology program have carried with me to my job and are critical to the work I do." |
