Important Dates for Fall 2013 Graduation
Graduation Day is one of the most important events in a student's life. Remembering to take care of final details required to get to the finish line is equally important. August 7: Last day to register for any necessary Independent Study Credit and online courses. Classes are scheduled to begin August 21. November 8: All Official Transcripts and Test Scores from other institutions must be received in the Registrar's Office. November 8: Deadline to Apply for Graduation and submit required $100 graduation fee. There will be a $25 late charge for applications faxed, scanned and emailed or postmarked after November 8. Applications received or postmarked after November 24, will be held and processed for Spring 2014 graduation. (Traditional students' accounts will be billed. Fee must be paid even if a student does not plan to participate in the ceremony).
The deadline for submitting Cap and Gown Orders to the bookstore for the Fall 2013 graduation is December 8. Orders submitted after this date will be assessed a $10.00 late fee. The cap and gown order form can be found on the main page of our web site: www.averett.bkstr.com. *The bookstore does not accept cap and gown phone orders*. November: Every student who has applied for graduation will receive an email in regards to an Averett Graduation Survey. Please make sure that you complete this survey as part of the final requirements for graduation. November 29: All account balances must be paid. December 12: All requirements for graduation must be completed and grades submitted. December 13: Graduation Rehearsal at the Grant Center at 2:30 p.m. Please bring your graduation regalia to make sure that you have the correct gown and hood. Students are strongly encouraged to attend rehearsal. If you do not attend, you will be confused about where to go and what to do on Saturday morning. December 14: GRADUATION DAY! Participation in graduation rehearsal is required. Graduates should be in line by 9:15 a.m. The graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. If you find that you are unable to attend, please notify the Registrar's Office (in writing) by emailing Sherry Phelps, Assistant Registrar, at sphelps@averett.edu immediately.
