Pride blanks Wesleyan
DANVILLE, Va. - In game one of the USA South Conference Tournament the Pride of Greensboro College defeated the N.C. Wesleyan College Bishops by a final of 6-0.
Greensboro College started the game quickly, scoring two runs off of five hits in the first two innings of play. The game remained at 2-0 until Greensboro engineered a well-played sixth inning, scoring three more runs on four hits, including a sharply hit double down the right field line by Chad Clark that scored two runs.
On the day for Greensboro College, Brent Justice was three-for-five with one run, and Jesse Sutton was three-for-four with one run and one RBI. Also for Greensboro, Andrew Keever pitched a complete-game shutout giving up only five hits and striking out three. For N.C. Wesleyan, Ryan Snyder was two-for-four, and Blake Rice also pitched a complete game, striking out three.
N.C. Wesleyan will play Saturday at 1:15 PM against the loser of the Ferrum and CNU, and Greensboro plays Friday at 4:30 PM against Methodist College.(Box)
