Moyer Honored by USA South Conference

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Averett University women's soccer standout Dee Moyer was named the Player of the Week by the USA South Athletic Conference Thursday.

Moyer, a junior midfielder from Waynesboro, VA, scored four goals and added an assist in two games last week. She assisted Averett's only goal in a 3-1 loss to Sweet Briar, and found the net four times on Saturday when the Cougars defeated Bluefield by a 4-3 final.

"My teammates did a great job during the Bluefield game," said Moyer. "They made good passes and luckily I was in the right place at the right time. One of my goals was to record a hat-trick this season and with some help from my team I met that goal Saturday."

Moyer has 13 career goals, and led the Cougars with eight scores last season. She and the Cougar women's soccer team are currently 1-2 on the season. They return to action Saturday at Hollins University.
