Averett Upends Hollins

Roanoke, Va. - Averett's Dee Moyer scored an unassisted goal with only 50 seconds remaining in the contest to lift the Cougar women's soccer team over Hollins University by a 3-2 final.

Moyer, a junior midfielder from Waynesboro, VA, scored her second hat-trick in three games to lift Averett (2-2) to the win. Last Saturday Moyer gave a four-goal performance against Bluefield College during an Averett win. She now has seven goals on the season.

Jennifer Burke assisted on one of the Cougar goals, while Shelia Nichols contributed with 16 saves as the goal-keeper. Hollins dropped to 0-2 on the season after the loss.

The Cougars return to action on the road Tuesday when they face a division II foe in Mount Olive College.
