Summer Orientation

New freshmen have multiple orientation options - including two summer sessions and a single day session in August.

Registration Deadline - Friday, June 13
Saturday & Sunday, July 19 and 20
Registration Deadline - Friday, July 4

Transfer Orientation
Friday, July 18
Registration Deadline - Friday, July 4
The summer orientation program is a two-day program designed to help you get ready for the fall semester. During summer orientation you will take care of any final business and register for classes. Registration for the summer program closes two weeks before the session, so register early. Students attending the summer session will free up a large block of time in August that would have normally been spent in New Student Orientation meetings.

Fall Freshman Orientation
All new freshmen will move-in for the fall semester on Saturday, August 16. Those students who could not attend one of the summer orientation programs will spend the day getting caught up and taking care of everything from the summer - learning about campus, taking care of business, and finding out all the details you need to start your first semester.

Summer Orientation Housing
Students will stay on campus in Fugate Hall for orientation. Fugate Hall is one of our air-conditioned residence halls and features single sex suit style accommodations. There are several local hotels in town for parents attending the program. Students need to bring a pillow, sheets and a blanket - the rooms can get cold.
Summer Orientation Meals
Lunch and dinner on the first day of orientation is provided. Breakfast and lunch on the second day is provided for students and guests.
Time: Check-in begins at 9:00 a.m. in Pritchett Auditorium.

Parent & Family Programs
Parents and family members are encouraged to attend orientation with students. There are separate sessions for parents during most of the day. While we do not offer specific programs for younger siblings, they are welcome to attend with parents as well.

What to Bring
comfortable clothes
a blanket
towels
an alarm clock

Once you have registered for one of the sessions, a detailed schedule and more information will be e-mailed to you. If you are unable to attend the summer session, you can always catch up with our fall orientation program.

Please remember-attending summer orientation means that you must complete all of the preparation before the registration deadline. Housing application, contracts, financial aid paperwork, health history, immunization records, health insurance and academic assessments must all be taken care of before you are eligible to attend the summer orientation program.
