Independent Study
Averett University offers more than 50 courses through independent study. These courses involve a one-on-one academic experience with a faculty member. Students communicate with faculty through a variety of modes, which may include e-mail, videotapes, audiotapes and print media. Course requirements are completed on an individual basis in accordance with a schedule agreed to by the faculty and student.

Financial Assistance
If you live in Virginia, you may be eligible for the Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG). Other financial assistance, including a military scholarship, is described on our Financial Assistance page. Averett is approved by the Department of Veteran's Affairs for veteran's benefits.
